JOHN BROWN
Detroit’s own John Brown wants to make you scream…or cry, or laugh – any kind of emotion will do, so long as you feel something when you hear his music. “Good music is about passion,” says the R&B singer/songwriter. “When I write or sing a song, I put my all into it. And I want people to feel that.”
Brown knows a thing or two about passion and good music. Born and raised in the Motor City, Brown, the youngest of five, was a preacher’s kid who sang in his father’s church every Sunday from the age of eight. His mom- who at the age of 17 had her own deal with Motown Records- would play hours of classical music in the house, “basically to calm us down,” Brown recalls.
In middle school, little J.B. joined a local youth theater group, which nurtured his vocal and acting skills and granted him the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at Pistons and Lions games. In fact, on five different occasions he was chosen to perform for President Clinton.
Brown competed in numerous talent shows in high school and won them all. Word spread fast around town about the precocious singer, who began to pursue a record deal. One day, an acquaintance contacted Brown and best friend Robert Curry (now of Day 26 fame) and informed them that musician/producer extraordinaire Wyclef Jean was looking to sign a group. Springing into action, Brown called two additional singers, formed the male foursome E2G, and drove to New Jersey, where they auditioned for Wyclef and were signed to Clef Records/J Records. A year later, however, the group disbanded, citing “creative differences.” "Imma Love You Right" now available on iTunes. Learn more about John Brown here: www.musicbyjohnbrown.com.
ANDREW SLOMAN
Andrew "epitomizes the talent, craft and sublime skill of the great British singer songwriter - understated but remarkably versatile both in terms of vocal lines and the melodies of the music" (Rick Lippit, Live Music FM). He has supported Sting, The Automatic and The Zutons on European tours and his music is regularly featured on shows like Tom Robinson on Radio 6.
Andrew plays all of the instruments on his first EP, "Tides," except for the string arrangements written together with the Mizenus Quartet; a group of extraordinary women from the Royal Philharmonic, BBC Welsh, and Glasgow Symphony Orchestras. The record, which was recorded and produced at his home in London, was released in October 2009 and continues to receive rave reviews. "Tides" is available now on iTunes. His highly anticipated sophmore album, "Deadwood," will be released summer 2010. Learn more about Andrew Sloman here: www.myspace.com/andrewsloman.

AMY SEELEY
If her debut EP and subsequent full-length were a budding courtship with her listeners, then “Eight Belles” may be considered moving in together. There is a sudden intimacy with Seeley’s songs, which rush audiences to emotional engagement. This is truth telling with a piano, a voice and a heart on a sleeve. This is truth telling with a piano, a voice and a heart on a sleeve.
Amy describes her personal evolution as pianist to songwriter, from childhood explorations to young adult obsession, as being tied “with an invisible string.” This thread can be traced back, from her current home in Portland, Oregon across Canadian borders, where her career as an artist grew wings in Calgary and Edmonton, all the way to rural Montana, where the prodigious piano player set out on her journey - “Eight Belles” now available on iTunes. ANDERSON CALE
The idea for Anderson Cale’s music began with a fear of flying. An almost paralyzed white knuckled Jeff Anderson’s paranoia left him when he discovered ambient music in 2002. “I think it was the simplicity and repetitive mellow lull that calmed my fears,” Anderson remarks. It’s then he posed the question, “why can’t there be music written for the purpose of bringing peace to the anxious soul?” He would then dream and write scattered ideas for the next six years waiting for the day when his dreaming would become a reality.
Anderson Cale began in October of 2008 when Jeff approached Jesse Cale with the possibility of collaborating on an ambient post-rock record. Not knowing their chemistry as songwriters, they decided to move forward when Jesse brought Jeff a rough sketch of what would become track 5 on the record, “Windows and Doorways.” Anderson then knew in that unforgettable moment that they were cut from the same mold – "Anderson Cale" now available on iTunes. JAKE HOLMAN
Timeless musicians such as U2, Coldplay, and the Rolling Stones had to start somewhere. It seems that like them, Jake Holman’s infinite love for music, and talent, will also prove to be his weapon to break deeper into the music industry. Holman’s musical virtue is definitely his passion for music, first and foremost, above making a song just to earn a buck. His material is meant to provoke thought, relate to the experiences of everyday people, connect with people on emotional and spiritual levels, and to remind them that they are not alone. Holman was born in Ohio, and has lived in Virginia, California, and Georgia. He is no stranger to the live stage, as his performance background is incredible for a 24-year-old musician who has only been performing professionally for four years. He attended Liberty University and immediately began performing for thousands of students several times a week, in addition to local venues. When in California, Holman played for more than 15,000 students, which has primed him for just about any stadium performance. Jake Holman is truly a musician in love with music, and it is evident in his work. Get some good, honest music by Jake Holman on iTunes. Learn more about Jake Holman here: www.myspace.com/jakeholman
